Daniela García Sánchez studied economics at the University of Costa Rica and holds a Master's degree in ecological economics and sustainable development from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. In 2015, she completed her doctoral studies at the University of Hamburg, Germany, on the topic of renewable energy and energy transition.

She has studies and knowledge in project management and implementation of policies on climate change, natural resources and energy, as well as in the application of methodologies and indicators for their evaluation and monitoring at the company, local and national government levels. He has the skills to articulate cooperation networks and manage strategic alliances with governmental and non-governmental organizations.

She has worked as a researcher and program coordinator at Universidad Nacional, also as an economist in the Environmental and Energy area of the Comptroller General of the Republic, and as a technical advisor in climate change projects of the German Cooperation GIZ. She supports multilevel governance processes, exchange of experiences and capacity building for the fulfillment of the country's climate goals. Currently, she works as a researcher and professor at the International Center of Economic Policy for Sustainable Development of the Universidad Nacional and is part of the Environmental Management and Policy Module.

She teaches courses in Economics, Ecology and Sustainable Development, Research Methods, Development Strategies and Policies, Finance and Development, and Macroeconomic Theory and Policy.
