Created in 2002 to offer functionaries of several public entities improvements in their professional development in areas related to analytics and reflective skills of the economy in the public sector. Such improvements can be seen in the areas that deal with public finance, public policy management, and research methods for decision-making.
The program based on the premise that the financial management of the public sector requires specialists who combine a high analytical level with specific skills for professional development; Its bases, composed of a multidisciplinary character, are the strengthening of the capacities in management and public finances, economy, and public finances.
The program mixes a rigorous study of the most relevant theoretical developments for public management with case studies and specific experiences; It focuses on applied research for decision-making and a comprehensive knowledge of public finance activities.
Purpose of the master’s degree
Our Master’s Degree in Management and Public Finance starts with the premise that the financial management of the public sector requires specialists who combine a high analytical level with specific skills for professional development, combining a rigorous study of the most relevant theoretical developments for public management with case studies and specific experiences; It focuses on applied research for decision-making and a comprehensive knowledge of the public finance activities.
To whom is it addressed
Addressed to managers, executives, advisors, consultants, functionaries related to financial management and private administration, and public entities of the three national and municipal powers.
Professional Profile
- The graduates of this program would be able to develop as functionaries in any area related to public finance management, mostly in management and consulting. Their strategic field view and practical skills will allow them to play the role of a leader.
- In the private sector, opportunities exist as a director, coordinator, or adviser between companies and private institutions of the public sector. Said activities can be acquisitions, appraisals, negotiations, etc.
- Finally, it will be able to provide services to public institutions under a finance management work agreement.

Academic Requisites
- Those able to access this master’s degree must have at least a bachelor’s or a degree in economics, mathematics, finance, administration, or any related career; The ones mentioned previously will be subject to an analysis by CINPE’s Academic Management Committee. Also, a certain domain of the English language is required/li>
Administrative Requisites
- Application for entrance.
- Payment receipt for entrance rights (when needed).
- Copy of the university degree on both sides. In the case of degrees obtained in a foreign country, they must be correctly apostilled. Degrees in any other language that’s not Spanish must be completely translated.
- Copy of the current ID. Foreign students must send a copy of their current passport.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Supporting document of your instrumental domain in English (certificate or sworn statement). The sworn statement does not require being authenticated by a lawyer.
- Academic history of your last career.
- A recent picture in JPG format with a white background.
- Two recommendation letters according to the format stipulated by the Teaching Program (PD). One of professional character and the other of administrative character.
- An interview with the postgraduate studies coordinator. An appointment will be arranged in agreement with the student.
Investment
The required investment to take the program it’s of USD 4.500. Additionally, the student must cancel the tuition fees to the Universidad Nacional each year.
Scholarships
The International Center of Economic Policy for Sustainable Development has a scholarship system for both national and international students. National Students have the possibility of a partial exoneration from the tuition costs.
