ACCREDITED POSTGRADUATE DEGREE

This postgraduate studies program was created on the year 1985 from the cooperation agreement between UNA and Tilburg University on Holand. Since then, it has been offered an academic program to the regional community. The Master’s Degree in Economic Policy has been characterized by bringing a theory-analytical formation, where our students research contemporaneous topics, which can be amplified from a critical perspective according to their respective countries. The students will develop the necessary theoretical and methodological strengths to analyze the economic environment. Also, they will have the competence to formulate guidelines on economic policy matters, so they can influence the national context where they develop.
Purpose of the master’s degree
The Master’s Degree in Economic Policy is characterized by bringing a theoretical-analytical formation, which is linked to actual research cases that generate a building of economic policies with a critical perspective.
It searches for the creation of capacities so graduates can continue working in their field of action in their respective countries.
Said program has also four specific emphases that a student would be able to choose along the process:
- International Economy
- Sustainable Development & Ecological Economy
- Innovation Economy
- Labor Economics
To whom is addressed
Our program is addressed to academic and research professionals, and independent consultants with aptitudes in scientific research. They’re joined to the use of analytical economic instruments, decision-making on economic policy matters, public policy definition on the socio-economic area, and natural resources management on innovation.
Professional Profile
When the graduates process is finished they will have access to the necessary theoretical and methodological tools to analyse their economic environment. Also, they will be able to manage any knowledge related to building guidelines on economic policy matters so they can influence the national context that surrounds them.
Entrance Exam
We manage a test about basic knowledge in macroeconomic, microeconomic, statistics, and mathematical areas. In addition, an essay will be created about the emphasis theme of any your preference.

Where do I sign up for the entrance exam?
First, you need to send the complete entrance documentation to the program. After that, a link to sign up for the entrance exam will be sent to you.
Academic Requisites
- Those able to access this master’s degree must have at least a bachelor’s or a degree in economics, mathematics, international trade, public service, or any related career; The ones mentioned previously will be subject to an analysis by CINE’s Academic Management Committee. Also, a certain domain of the English language is required.
Administrative Requisites
- Application for entrance.
- Payment receipt for entrance rights (when needed).
- Copy of the university degree on both sides. In the case of degrees obtained in a foreign country, they must be correctly apostilled. Degrees in any other language that’s not Spanish must be completely translated.
- Copy of the current ID. Foreign students must send a copy of their current passport.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Supporting document of your instrumental domain in English (certificate or sworn statement). The sworn statement does not require being authenticated by a lawyer.
- Academic history of your last career.
- A recent picture in JPG format with a white background.
- Two recommendation letters according to the format stipulated by the Teaching Program (PD). One of professional character and the other one of administrative character.
- Ain interview with the postgraduate studies coordinator. An appointment will be arranged in an agreement with the student.
- An approved postgraduate studies entrance exam.
Investment
The required investment to take the program it’s of USD 5.000. Additionally, each year the student must cancel the tuition fees to the Universidad Nacional.
Scholarships
- The International Center of Economic Policy for Sustainable Development has a scholarship system for both national and international students.
- Foreign applicants can register for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
- We’re available on CONAPE.
- CINPE offers exemptions to graduates from Universidad Nacional and functionaries of the public sector.
