Our Story

The International Center of Economic Policy for Sustainable Development (CINPE) is a research and teaching institute whose permanent lines of action in university extension and advice are about economic, social, commercial, and environmental policies. On March 2, 1995, the university council of Universidad Nacional created CINPE within the experience and history of the Master’s Degree in Economic Policy for Central America and the Caribbean founded in 1985 with the assistance of the Netherlands government.

We consolidate ourselves as a dynamic, flexible, and innovative academic entity where our job is done with a high sense of social commitment. We appreciate your interest in knowing our work further, and we invite you to visit us at our facilities on the Presbítero Benjamín Nuñez campus, Barreal, Heredia, Costa Rica.
