She has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a specialty in International Trade from the International Relations School of UNA. Has a master’s degree in Economic Policy with an emphasis on International Economy from CINPE-UNA. She has a Business Management Director at the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR).

She has received different specialty courses on the local economic development topic and global commodity chains. She’s also a certified management editor for academic scientific journals.

Since 2005, until now, she has given courses in Costa Rican universities like the Universidad Internacional de las Américas (UIA), Universidad Nacional (UNA) in different postgraduate studies, the Universidad de la Cooperación Internacional (UCI), the Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN), and the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica. On a regional level, she has developed as a professor at the Universidad de San Carlos in Guatemala (USAC), the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), and the Universidad de El Salvador (USAL). Regarding her teaching experience on CINPE, she has developed in the three master’s degree programs, and she has given courses about International Trade Theory, Negotiations and Applications of Trade Agreements, International Trade Negotiations, Research Techniques, Public Policies, and International Market Research.

Other courses taught in different instances are Economic Geography, Research Workshops, Social Research Design, and Research Methodologies.

From 2006 until now, she has been a professor and researcher at CINPE. Her areas of expertise are international trade, trade negotiations, local economic development, and SMEs’ competitive performance. She has 16 years of experience in research and university teaching, and 10 years of experience in scientific publication.
