Studied Economy in the Universidad Nacional de Costar Rica (UNA). Has a master’s degree in Economic Policy with Emphasis in Ecological Economy and Sustainable Development from CINPE-UNA.

Has a master’s degree in Statistics, acquired from Universidad de Costa Rica. Currently studying for a PhD in Economics: tools for economic analysis from the Universidad de Cantabria, España.

He was a coordinator of the post-graduate studies program from CINPE-UNA from 2019 to 2024 and was responsible for the self-evaluation project for accreditation processes of CINPE’s postgraduate studies.

Teaching experience of more than 15 years in public universities. He is a CINPE professor on quantitative methods, economic analysis, micro evidence of innovation, statistical methods and econometrics, etc.

Expert on economic regulation, particularly in public services matters, developing at the Regulatory Development Center of the Public Services Regulatory Authority from 2013 to 2019.

Has participated in several research projects and has been a consultant for several national and international organizations. His work areas include themes related to environmental assessment, smart and sustainable cities, climate change, the energy sector and decarbonization, water resources, macroeconomics in public policies, use of quantitative instruments for economic analysis, demand projection studies, etc. He is part of the Public Policies and Regulation unit, and also coordinates the project of Macroeconomic Analysis for Sustainable Development.
